Starting Your Own Practice? 5 Essential Things to Set Up Before You See Your First Patient

You’re transitioning from being a practitioner at a clinic, and going out on your own!

We love a fresh start around here. But it is SO easy to get caught up in all the details (which are important to).

Let’s get the foundation in place!

  1. Inbox

Depending on how you’ve been managing your inbox, you may want to start a new email for your fresh start. Especially if you’re hiring support! There is something really clean about an info@ admin@ inbox, setting the expectation that your patients are greeted by your support team!

  1. CRM

Most practitioners I work with use Jane! And one of the many amazing things about Jane is that they will support you with your transition when you go from Jane clinic to Jane clinic. I’m talking chart notes, appointments, even doing a mass product important (so handy to add lab pricing).

  1. Lab portals

If you've ordered labs through your clinic's lab login, you’ll want to start your own lab accounts to easily access and pay for testing.

  1. Fax

You’ll need to set up your own fax number, for prescriptions, RORs, etc.

  1. Optional: phone line

I think this is totally dependent on who your ideal patients are. You know them best! Are they the type of person who needs to be able to chat with a human? Or is email communication sufficient?

Seeeee, it really can be pretty simple! If you’re looking for support during a time of transition, let’s chat! I’d love to help!
